The poster and theme for the 2024 Young Readers' Book Awards has been revealed!
The theme this year is Reading: Your Passport to Adventure. The poster was designed by local author and illustrator Briony Stewart. HPE Teacher Graduate Mentor Program11/2/2024 ACHPER WA will be running a mentor program for first year HPE teachers, beginning from Term 2 2024.
From the ACHPER WA newsletter: "ACHPER WA is proud to present the release of the ACHPER WA HPE Teacher Mentor Program, 2024 ACHPER WA provides early career teachers with an opportunity to work with a mentor with extensive experience in the teaching profession in order to overcome some of the challenges faced by teachers new to the classroom and assist with establishing their career." Better Beginnings grants9/9/2023 Round 3 of the Better Beginnings Family Literacy Community Grants are now open. The grants are for Western Australian community groups, centres and libraries that help promote literacy in 0-5 year olds. Any organisation with programs and ideas encouraging families to ‘read, talk, sing, write and play with their child every day’ is welcome to apply.
Applications close 29 September 2023.
